This week is packed with basketball, as we fit in our final games of the season. Tonight kicks off the week with games against Lewis Libby. Girls CDS home vs Lewis Libby, B Team plays first at 3:30. Boys CDS @ Lewis Libby, B Team plays first at 3:30.
Center Drive School is proud to host Dedham School for a couple of basketball scrimmages tonight! CDS Girls A Team home vs Dedham at 3:30. CDS Boys B Team home vs Dedham at 4:45. The games are only Girls A and Boys B.
There is no Concession Stand tonight, so go ahead and pack your snacks and come on out to support two AOS47 schools!
There is NO Concert Band before school today, January 26.
AOS 47 the Airline, Dedham and Orrington School Departments: All schools have a 2 hour delay today due to the inclement weather and subsequent cleanup. All opening school functions will begin 2 hours later than our normally scheduled times. There will no NO morning Pre-K.

Girls Basketball Announcement: Wednesday's (1/25) game against Lewis Libby has been canceled (Girls' teams only). Unfortunately, there is no room in our schedule to make up the B team game before playoffs. The Girls A Team game, CDS @ Lewis Libby, has been rescheduled for Monday, February 6 at 3:30.
* CDS will still host the Boys' games, CDS home vs Lewis Libby, on January 25.
We have exciting news to share! Back in September our school committee approved the hiring of an SRO (Student Resource Officer) for Center Drive. Today was our first day with Deputy Dan Davis. Dan was a former Orrington resident and student at Center Drive many years ago. If your child comes home talking about a police officer spending lots of time in our school you will know why!

Although a schedule of game times is not yet available, please keep the following dates in mind for our PVML Basketball Tournaments.
February 4 - B Teams Basketball Tournament hosted at Glenburn
February 7 - B Teams Semi-Final, Boys hosted at Center Drive, Girls hosted at Glenburn
February 9 - B Teams Finals, both Boys and Girls hosted at Center Drive
February 11 - A Teams Basketball Tournament, hosted at Hampden Academy
February 14 - A Teams Finals (includes "A" and "B" Flight), hosted at Hampden Academy
Tournament Admissions are $3 students, $4 adults, $10 family.
Once we know our final seeding, a more detailed schedule will be shared.

Due to the basketball games being canceled today, January 17, sport practices will be held at the following times: Girls A and B basketball 3:00-4:00, Cheer 3:00-5:00, Boys B basketball 5:00-6:00 and Boys A basketball 6:00-7:00.

Congratulations to our CDS Eagles Cheer Team! Under the leadership of Coach Kristen Cox and Assistant Coach Nikyla Bidler, our Cheer Team came in 2nd place at the Tardiff 2023 Cheer Competition in Brewer today! Way to go, team! You have so much to be proud of!
