AOS #47 Airline, Dedham, & Orrington School Departments 19 School Street Orrington, Maine 04474 11/11/2020
Good afternoon Airline Community School Families, We are sending this notice to inform you that the Airline Community School will be full-remote on Thursday November 12th with no in-person instruction. We are awaiting more information with an ongoing COVID-19 investigation before we can safely bring students back to our hybrid model. We will reassess the situation as we gather more information and communicate if more remote instruction time is necessary. You will receive an update on Friday, 11/13/2020. It was reported that a family member of individuals associated with Airline Community School has been deemed a close contact with another individual who tested positive for COVID-19. The contact tracing process is ongoing and will be guided by the Maine CDC’s Investigation SOP. As we receive more guidance from the CDC, we will provide you with additional updates. With community transmission on the rise in Maine, we are asking all families to be extra vigilant and to continue following all Maine CDC health and safety protocols. This includes Daily Health Screenings before sending your child to school on in-person days, promptly reporting health/safety information to the school, proper hand hygiene, social distancing, and wearing appropriate face coverings. Please continue to monitor yourself and your child for signs and symptoms and call a health care provider if symptoms begin. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns, for general COVID-19 questions, dial 211.
Sincerely, James Stoneton II Superintendent of Schools -- Kimberly W. Haley, Administrative AssistantAirline Community School 26 Great Pond Road Aurora, Maine 04408 207.584.3012 207.584.5112
