Good morning Airline School Community members! Spring is on the way. I just wanted to share with you our school assembly message on Empathy. Our lesson focus is on compassion for others, not sympathy, but Empathy. "Putting yourself in someone else's shoes". Parents, your homework assignment...ask your children about my "PUPPIES FOR SALE" story lesson. All of you should be proud, the kids were fantastic during our assembly! Kudos to you & your children. Well done!

Good evening Airline School Community members. I just wanted to share some scary-good activities students are working on in Social Studies. We’re beginning our ancient Egypt study, and one of the most interesting topics is the mummification process they used. Getting the privileged ready for their trip to the afterlife was amazing! For a project, we’ve duplicated the process. Sorry, no Priests or Pharaohs involved, we used apples! (Sorry Boris Karloff). Mr C

We have reached out to other AOS #47 schools and they are no longer doing temperature checks upon entry. If a student is not feeling well we will check their temperature. Today is our 100th day of school!! Mrs. Linders and her Pre-K students made necklaces out of Cheerios. I was able to get a picture.... but there may not be 100 cheerios left as they really liked the taste of the cheerios.

Good afternoon folks. I just wanted to share with you our latest Social Studies endeavor. Our middle school students have written newspaper articles for a local paper- The Mesopotamian Daily News! (The MDN as we like to call it). It highlights the life and times in the Fertile Crescent region. For just a few “Shekels” you can get a copy, but don’t wait, supplies are limited!

Good morning. I just wanted to share with you an ongoing project we've initiated in our middle school class. On Monday afternoon's we've been discussing aspects of 1st Aid. It started weeks ago from a recess conversation. Being naturally isolated here, what would you do if you, or your family & friends found themselves in a First Aid situation? How would you react, and provide some needed 1st aid? Our lessons have focused on the basics, including the importance of the 911 call. FIRST AID MOTTO - "Preserve life – stop the person from dying. Prevent further injury – stop the person from being injured even more."

Good morning. I wanted to share an ELA assignment from our guided reading, HOLES unit. A wonderful family activity. Mr C • Unearth your own family history: Do you know where your great-grandparents were born, what kind of work they did, or how they died? Go through old photo albums and scrapbooks, read old letters and journals, interview the oldest people in your family, and find out as much as you can about your own roots. Write down any family stories, songs, or traditions you learn about in a special notebook, and create a record of your family’s history to pass down to your descendants.
