Good morning Airline Community School Community! Enjoy today's sunshine. Food for thought - *Repetitive complaining will attract things to complain about...*Repeated gratitude will attract things to be thankful about!

Another student sample-R.A.F.T prompt. ELA/Health. Early life lesson for sure! (100% Vocab words included!) 8-) There's a lot of kids out there that misuse alcohol. You could be putting your life at risk by drinking underaged or drinking alot. Underaged drinkers binge drink so they can get drunk. They consume way much more than adults because the younger you start the more problems you could have. Some of it may be legal, but that does not mean that you have to do it. You could get put in bad conditions like going to jail. And half of them do it in public. You might be hurting not only yourself but other people. You could get many injuries from doing stupid stuff while being intoxicated. You will develop more and more things that will effect you. You may never feel normal again. It is ok to do it on occasion when you are over 21 years of age. You might drink for some activities like a party or when you have friends over. Some kids will end up having bad traits when they are older from drinking. It truly can be a drug if you get too addicted to it. Some alcoholic drinks are illicit in the United States for underaged kids.

A student draft - Underage Drinking Prompt , Vocabulary usage. My brother Tommy, who is of legal age consumes one can of alcohol every day. His activities have caused him to have a higher risk of developing some problems such as memory loss, and swelling. His drinking has also caused him to almost injure himself. While you think Tommy is bad, my neighbors binge drink and sometimes takes illicit drugs on occasion. Some of the conditions his misuse has caused is , high blood pressure, heart disease, and liver disease, along with some other effects. Some other people in the public have also been hurting themselves and others as a result of drinking ...so just don’t drink!

Good morning Airline School community! As part of our M.S classwork we often try to design assignments/projects that are cross-curriculum. As an example...this week we did an informational piece on UNDER-AGE DRINKING. (ELA,WRITING,HEALTH). After the reading & discussion(s), the class was given 20 vocabulary words from the reading. A writing prompt (R.A.F.T method) , using a minimum of 80% of the word list followed. A sample - As a Penobscot County Sheriff, I deal with the public often in a normal work week. I enjoy my job and I try to develop, on occasion, activities that will have positive effects on people. Being positive is a trait that benefits not only myself, but others who may misuse, consume, or binge on alcohol. As an adult of legal age, drinking is still a risk, and can often result in hurting, or causing injuries to themselves or others. One of the challenges that I face is that alcohol addiction and the unsafe conditions associated with it, can lead to other illicit drug use. (Vocabulary word list...misuse, binge, consume, occasion, public, conditions, legal, risk, hurting, drug, normal, alcohol, people, illicit, problems, activities, injuries, effects, trait, and develop.)
